Proclamation Request Criteria

• A completed request form must be submitted at least 3 weeks in advance of the proclamation date.
• The City of Fort Saskatchewan may edit and revise the wording of the proclamation at its discretion.
• The City will not provide media coverage for proclamations.
• Proclamations will not be put onto a council meeting agenda and will not be read out at a council meeting.
• A request for proclamation will not be considered if it:
  • is determined to be of political controversy, religious beliefs or individual conviction;
  • is determined to be intended for commercial or profit-making purposes;
  • advocates discrimination, hatred, violence or racism;
  • is contrary to the City of Fort Saskatchewan’s policies or bylaws.

Terms of Use Agreement

AGREEMENT REGARDING USE OF OFFICIAL MESSAGE

In consideration of the Mayor or other official providing messages and proclamations, the Organization agrees to the following:

• It will only use the message for the event or occasion and date specified in the message.
• It will make sure that the message is not used or reproduced, in whole or in part, for any other purpose without the written authorization of the City of Fort Saskatchewan. Also, it will not:
  • Change or edit the message in any way from its original form.

The personal information requested on this form is being collected under the authority of Section 33(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (Act) and will be used for the purpose of proclamation request submissions. The information will be protected in accordance with the Act.
